Official: Russia to target Ukrainian officials if retaliates

MOSCOW, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- Russia will retaliate with measures targeting only representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and people affiliated with them, if Kiev arrests Russian assets, Andrei Klimov, deputy director of the committee for foreign affairs of the Federation Council, said on Tuesday.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko earlier suggested arresting Russian assets in Ukraine after an incident with ships in the Kerch Strait.

Klimov said, “Russian retaliation, if Ukraine goes as far as this, will be very discrete and targeted, it will cover only those who creates and implements all this: the ministers, aides, heads of authorities. They must become toxic in Russia, they, their relatives and people close to them.”
